This asset finance company started out by wanting a simple client and customer satisfaction survey. However, once it saw the benefit of 'tagging along' overall perception questions, such as brand, image, product awareness, product concepts etc., it decided to do a mixed programme looking at its segmented customer base.

The cost was hardly any different, but the programme achieved far greater value.


The project provided valuable information about the overall opinions of the company, not just its service. The knowledge gained enabled product awareness to be increased, new business opportunities, service and relationship improvements, account management changes and a baseline for future performance and perception monitoring.


It is more cost effective to decide on the objectives and then to design the research programme, rather than to decide on the research tactics first.
